LED Lighting Design Engineer
Location: South East (Flexible/Remote with site visits)

A growing and forward-thinking energy solutions provider is looking for a skilled LED Lighting Design Engineer to join their expanding team. With a strong foundation in sustainable technologies, this company delivers end-to-end solutions across sectors such as healthcare, education, and the public domain, focusing on Net Zero and decarbonisation initiatives.
This is an exciting opportunity for a technically competent and motivated professional to lead on bespoke lighting design projects, working closely with clients and internal teams to deliver energy-efficient, regulation-compliant lighting systems.
Key Responsibilities

Engage with clients to assess requirements and user needs

Design tailored lighting systems for environments such as hospitals, schools, and public buildings

Collaborate with project managers, engineers, and contractors throughout project lifecycles

Conduct site surveys and integrate findings into final designs

Produce CAD lighting layouts (AutoCAD, Revit) and simulations (Dialux, Relux, AGi32)

Perform lighting and energy calculations to ensure efficiency and compliance

Ensure designs adhere to industry standards (e.g., BS5266, CIBSE, LG02)

Support on-site commissioning and deliver full technical documentation
What You’ll Need

Degree or equivalent in Lighting Design, Electrical Engineering, or a related field

Minimum 3-5 years’ experience in lighting design or commercial electrical installation

Proficiency in CAD software and lighting simulation tools

In-depth knowledge of lighting standards and emergency lighting regulations

Strong client communication and project coordination skills

18th Edition Wiring Regulations (BS 7671) qualification required

Experience working with sustainable or energy-efficient systems a plus
